Vicki’s design interest began early on, building elaborate homes for her Barbie collection and perusing her mothers’ monthly copy of Architectural Digest, where she sought out floor plans to copy and tweak to her liking.

That youthful pastime continued when Vicki studied architecture at Tuskegee Institute, graduating with a Masters of Architecture. An internship in Los Angeles was the gateway to Vicki moving to LA where she began her professional experience at an aerospace company managing their facilities.

After leaving the corporate world as a Facilities Project Manager, Vicki established Comprehensive Designs in Los Angeles in 1989 and today proudly celebrates 20 years in the business while laying the foundation for the next phase of growth.

In 1996, Vicki opened a design studio and retail home furnishings and accessories boutique. That venture along with her growing list of clients, clearly established Vicki in the luxury home design business. She further spread her design influence and gained valuable exposure when she relocated to South Africa to provide Project Management for a commercial mid rise building in Johannesburg, and residences in Pretoria and Durban. That opportunity was not only culturally rewarding, but expanded her repertoire, to new lifestyle ideas and sensibilities regarding design and construction.

Vicki’s success was built by her repeat and referral clientele. Moving forward, Vicki will not only be providing her outstanding design services for new projects, but will be showing clients how to refurbish, reuse, and downsize for the new lifestyle realities as well as bringing information on living green and living the best life you can live, with what you have …
